QUEST IN REAL LIFE: How To Find Your Purpose.

A quest is a journey towards something specific, with a number of challenges throughout. A life of personal quest in real life is a deep pursuit or a journey that an individual embarks on to fulfill a specific goal, aspiration, or a sense of purpose. The quest often involves striving to achieve something that resonates with your core values, beliefs or desires.

A quest has a key few features, including a clear goal, a real challenge, and a set of milestones along the way.

Embarking on a Quest In Life is It for You?

They're many reasons why people go on life changing quests, we would look at some of the reasons and examples of people who left their comfort zone and took a pursuit of adventures.

Some of the reasons are:

Spiritual and Existential Goals

A group of British Muslims from the UK went on an ambitious cycling journey, covering thousands of kilometers across several countries to reach Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Hajj. The journey took them through challenging terrains, under diverse weather conditions and various cultural landscapes. They cycled through France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Jordan to reach Saudi Arabia. They were motivated by their faith and desire to experience the spiritual journey of Hajj in a unique way. They combined the physical challenges of long distance cycling with the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage. The quest was not just a test of physical endurance but also an expression of their devotion to raise awareness for the people of Gaza.

Legacy and Impact

John and Nancy Vogel, along with their twin sons Davy and Daryl embarked on a remarkable journey that has become an inspiring story of family adventure and resilience. Their quest involved cycling from Alaska to Argentina, covering over 17000 miles over the course of nearly three years.

The journey, which started in June 2008 from Prudhoe Bay Alaska, took them through Canada, Mexico and many parts of Central and South America. They faced diverse climate, landscapes and challenges along the way. The Vogel encountered numerous obstacles during their sojourn including extreme weather conditions, rugged terrain and the physical and mental exhaustion of long distance cycling. However, despite all these difficulties, the family remains resolute and committed to their goals, supporting each other through the high and low.

After completing their quest, the Vogels wrote about their experiences and shared the stories through books, blogs and presentations. Their adventure continues to inspire those who heard about it, encouraging others to embark on their own quest – whether they involve travels, personal growth or other forms of exploration. Their story is a remainder of the transformative power of adventure and the importance of pushing beyond conventional boundaries to achieve something truly remarkable.
